Supplementary Weekly Unemployment Benefits

In order to reduce hardship during unemployment in the winter months, Local 1298 will give members a supplement check for up to $100 per week in which the member is collecting Unemployment. For each week that a laborer receives an unemployment benefit check from the New York State Unemployment Insurance Fund for weeks ending from December 1st to April 30th of any year, he/she will be eligible to receive this benefit. Not to exceed (15 weeks) or up to $1,500 between December 1st to April 30th. If the State Unemployment benefit is for less than 5 days of unemployment, the supplementary benefit will be $20 per day of unemployment. The benefit is limited to periods of unemployment in the heavy constriction laboring industry under the jurisdiction of Laborers Union No. 1298 for employees who are eligible under the Local 1298 Plan.
